Roger Federer has proved to the world he is number one. He has proved it over and over again. This time it happened in Seoul when he defeated Rafael Nadal, another great tennis player by the way, in an exhibition match last Tuesday. This was their 10th match together and the second one in three days.
Federer who is from Switzerland, leaded the competition that lasted for one hour and 22 minutes. The score was 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 bringing the victory for Federer for the second time in the last three days and for the fourth time in his life time history against the Spaniard Nadal.
Hyundai Card who organized the tennis match didn’t reveal the purse’s price.
Federer has also achieved some other triumphs lately. It was last Saturday when he won the semi-finals of the Shanghai Masters: 6-4, 7-5 and then he took over during Sunday’s Masters Cup final where he played against James Blake from the United States and reached his 45th singles title.
In 2004, the 25 year old became the first man to win three out of the four Grand Slam singles tournaments in the same year, since Mats Wilander achieved this record in 1988. In 2006, the Swiss repeated this accomplishment and turned into the first man in the open era to win at least ten singles championships in three straight years.
